Tips for Perfect Results

Breakfast, snack, or dessert? This eggnog bread can be enjoyed any time of day.

If you want perfect results, you have to pay attention to some details when making gluten-free eggnog bread. Follow these tips and achieve a perfect texture, sweet taste and fluffy bread:

1. Use the Right Flour Blend

The flour used in this recipe is crucial for the texture of the bread. Use a gluten-free flour blend that contains xanthan gum, or add it yourself to your flour mixture. This ingredient acts as a binder and provides elasticity to the dough so that it doesn’t crumble.

2. Beat the Eggs Thoroughly

When eggs come into contact with sugar, they create air pockets that help the dough rise when baking. So, beat the eggs well with vanilla extract and honey or sugar until you see bubbles forming on top of the mixture.

3. Add Warm Liquid Ingredients to Room Temperature Butter

Melted butter should be at room temperature before mixing it with warm eggnog or milk. If you don’t follow this order, it could congeal and create small lumps throughout the dough.

4. Don’t Overmix the Batter

Over-mixing can make the bread dry and dense as gluten-free flour isn’t as elastic as wheat flour. Once you mix all of your ingredients together, stir only until there’s no trace of flour remaining for optimal moistness.

5. Manage Your Oven Temperature

To ensure even baking, preheat your oven at 350°F (180°C), use an oven thermometer and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean.

6. Let The Bread Cool Before Cutting

Gluten-free eggnog bread needs to cool completely before slicing, allowing it to maintain its shape and not crumble too easily.

7. Store Baked Bread Correctly

After letting your bread cool completely, wrap it in cling film or aluminum foil before storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Or you can freeze the bread wrapped in a double layer of foil and place it in a freezer bag for up to three months.

By following these tips and tricks, you will have a delicious gluten-free eggnog bread that’s perfect for any time of day – whether as a quick breakfast or as an easy dessert!
