And let’s not forget about the star of the show–the sunken dark chocolate streusel that gives every slice a touch of decadence.

But what sets this chocolate amaretto tea bread apart is its versatility. You can serve it at any time – as breakfast bread, with coffee or tea for an afternoon snack or even as a dessert item; topped with whipped cream, berries or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

It’s also easy to make – no fancy equipment or complex methods are necessary. All you need are a couple of mixing bowls, an oven and some patience while waiting for the bread to cool down (so you don’t burn your tongue!).

– Flour Substitutions: You can switch out the gluten-free flour with almond flour, oat flour or coconut flour in the same amount listed in the recipe. Each of these flours will give a unique texture to your tea bread. For instance, almond flour will make your bread more dense and nutty while oat flour will make it softer and sweeter.

– Fruit Variations: For the extra sweet-tooth lovers who want to make their tea bread with a fruity twist, soaking dried fruits such as cherries or cranberries in amaretto liqueur before added them into the recipe is absolutely delightful.

– Spices: Adjusting spices in your recipe is an important way to elevate the flavor profile of your dish. After all isn’t it about adding some heat? Spice up your bread with a teaspoon of cinnamon or even a dash of nutmeg for an aromatic punch.

Once you have made this gluten-free chocolate amaretto tea bread recipe, you can safely store it for a few days. Its moistness makes it perfect for storing in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap at room temperature for up to three days.

If you want to prepare the cake ahead of time, you can keep it fresh and moist by freezing it for up to three months. Slice it into portions and wrap each piece tightly in plastic wrap before storing them in a freezer-safe container.

When you are ready to serve the cake, let it thaw completely either overnight in the refrigerator or for a few hours at room temperature. Once thawed, you can reheat the cake in a preheated oven set to 350°F for about 10-15 minutes or until warm.

Alternatively, you can reheat individual slices of the cake by microwaving them for 10-15 seconds before enjoying.

I recommend serving the gluten-free chocolate amaretto tea bread with a dollop of whipped cream or dusting some powdered sugar on top for added sweetness! It’s perfect with a cup of hot tea or coffee or as an indulgent dessert after dinner.

Gluten Free Chocolate Amaretto Tea Bread Recipe

I call this a tea bread because it is not super sweet like a pound cake, but does have the same texture. Next time I play around with it, I think I may add a bit more milk and butter and see what happens. I used Bob's Red Mill All Purpose Gluten Free Flour mix with great success.
