The Recipe How-To

Now that we have the ingredients prepared, let’s get into the recipe how-to. In this section, I’ll guide you through the steps in making these delicious chocolate peanut butter treats.

Step 1: Preparing the Pan

Before even starting the recipe, we need to prepare an 8×8-inch pan by lining it with parchment paper. This will prevent sticking and make it easier to remove the bars once they’re done.

Step 2: Making the Crust

To make the crust of these bars, you’ll need to mix together 1 ½ cups of gluten-free graham cracker crumbs, ½ cup of melted butter, and 3 tablespoons of brown sugar. You can use a food processor or a zip-lock bag with a rolling pin to crush the graham crackers.

Once you’ve mixed everything properly, press it down into your prepared pan until it’s evenly distributed.

Step 3: Adding Peanut Butter Filling

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of peanut butter, ¼ cup of brown sugar, and ¼ cup of light corn syrup. Mix until completely combined and warmed through.

Then pour this mixture over your prepared crust and spread it out evenly using a spatula. Let it cool down for at least 5 minutes before continuing on with the next step.

Step 4: Making Chocolate Ganache

The chocolate ganache is what gives these bars that extra rich chocolatey layer on top. To make it, put 4 oz of chopped dark chocolate in a large bowl. Then in a small saucepan heat up ½ cup of heavy cream until just below boiling point.

Pour the cream over the chocolate and let it sit for about 2 minutes before stirring until smooth. Pour this ganache over your peanut butter filling and spread it evenly using a spatula.

Step 5: Adding Toppings

This step is completely optional but if you want to take your bars to the next level, try adding some toppings! You can go traditional with some chopped peanuts on top or mix things up by adding some pretzels or chocolate chips.

Step 6: Chill and Serve

Once you’ve added your desired toppings, chill the bars in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours before slicing into squares. Serve them chilled and enjoy!

These gluten-free chocolate peanut butter bars may seem difficult at first glance, but with this simple recipe how-to, they’ll be a breeze to make. Dig in!

Substitutions and Variations

• The perfect little bites of heaven for any chocolate lover's sweet tooth.
• The perfect little bites of heaven for any chocolate lover’s sweet tooth.

Have you ever wanted to make a recipe, only to find out that you don’t have all the necessary ingredients on hand? Fear not, for this recipe offers plenty of substitutions and variations that cater to your individual preferences and dietary restrictions.

For those looking for a dairy-free option, simply swap out the butter with coconut oil or another vegan butter alternative. And if you’re in need of a gluten-free version, use certified gluten-free graham cracker crumbs or oat flour instead.

For those who prefer a different type of nut butter, feel free to substitute the peanut butter with almond, cashew or sunflower seed butter. The same goes for the light corn syrup – it can be replaced with maple syrup or honey for a natural sweetener option.

You can also get creative with flavors by adding in mix-ins such as dried fruits, nuts or even chopped dark chocolate pieces. Or switch up the texture by using rice cereals, corn flakes or oatmeal instead of graham cracker crumbs.

To make these treats more festive, try using fun cookie cutters instead of baking them in bars. And if you’re feeling extra indulgent, drizzle some chocolate ganache over the top and sprinkle with confectioners sugar for an irresistible presentation.

The possibilities for substitutions and variations are endless, so have fun exploring what works best for you and your taste buds.

Serving and Pairing

When it comes to serving and pairing these gluten-free Chocolate Peanut Butter Treats, there are a multitude of directions in which you can take. Alternatively, if you are looking for something that is refreshing and creamy, pair them instead with a cold glass of almond milk or a tall glass of coconut water.

Better still, you can even create your own tasty treats using these bars as a base ingredient. Try crumbling them up over some vanilla ice cream or drizzle them with chocolate ganache to create gourmet desserts that make perfect party fare! Plus, who doesn’t love an easy yet impressive dessert?

Regardless of how you choose to enjoy these Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars on their own, it’s hard to deny that they’re some of the best baked goods around – no bake, though! Make-Ahead, Storing and Reheating

• A gluten-free delight that is so rich and luscious.
• A gluten-free delight that is so rich and luscious.

As a nutritionist and food blogger, I know that meal prepping can make life so much easier, especially when it comes to snacks. And these chocolate peanut butter bars are perfect for making ahead of time!

Firstly, while these bars are best served chilled or at room temperature, you can make them ahead of time and store them in the fridge for up to a week! Simply cut your bars into your desired serving sizes, wrap them individually with plastic wrap, and store them in an airtight container.

When you’re ready to indulge, just take one out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the bar to soften slightly and become even more deliciously chewy. Trust me on this – it’s worth the wait!

If you’re looking to store these bars for even longer than a week, then they also freeze beautifully! Just place your wrapped up bars into a large ziplock bag and pop them in the freezer. These bars will keep for up to 2 months frozen. When you’re ready to eat them, simply thaw your bar on the counter for 30-60 minutes before enjoying.

Now for reheating – these bars are actually best served chilled or at room temperature, as mentioned before. However, if you’d like to enjoy them warm and gooey (as I sometimes do!), then simply pop one in the microwave for 10-15 seconds on medium heat. Be careful not to overdo it though – you don’t want your chocolate peanut butter bar turning into a melted mess!

With these make-ahead, storing and reheating tips, you’ll never have to worry about not having a satisfying snack on hand. Whether you freeze your bars or simply stash them in the fridge, they’ll be there waiting for you when hunger strikes.

Tips for Perfect Results

To make this Chocolate Peanut Butter Treats recipe truly shine, there are a few tips and tricks you’ll want to keep in mind. Here are my top recommendations for achieving the perfect bars every time.

First, when melting the chocolate, be sure to do so in short intervals in the microwave or on low heat on the stovetop. Chocolate can easily scorch or seize if overheated, so take your time and stir frequently.

Secondly, use high-quality ingredients whenever possible. This makes a huge difference in flavor and texture. Look for organic peanut butter and chocolate that is at least 70% dark for optimal richness.

In addition, be sure to accurately measure all ingredients to ensure the proper balance of flavors and textures. A kitchen scale can be especially helpful here.

To further enhance the flavor of the bars, consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt or drizzle of pure maple syrup over the top before baking.

Finally, let the bars cool completely before slicing for clean edges and easier cutting. If you’re short on time, pop them in the fridge or freezer to speed up the process.

By following these simple tips, you’ll have a batch of perfectly delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Treats every time. Enjoy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Treats (Gluten Free) Recipe

I got this today from a weekely email newsletter from GlutenFreeda, a great place to get gluten free recipes and this sounds to great, and also should be fairly quick and easy to make. The brand of Crisp rice cereal that they listed was EnviroKids Koala Crisps, which can usually be found in the healthy (Organic) food isle of any grocery store. You can probably use any brand of Crisp Rice cereal. I think that most brands are made of just rice, but check to label if you are wheat intolerant to make sure. Enjoy!!
